Automated Workflows
JFAB’s automated workflows leverage robotics, automation, and microfluidics to accelerate and streamline biomanufacturing research.

Conversion Pipeline
The Conversion Pipeline accelerates one of synthetic biology’s most time-consuming steps: improving microbial production by performing genetic tweaks on different combinations of genes.
This automated pipeline uses robotics to create and test hundreds of genetic designs at a time. After each round, machine learning algorithms analyze the results and suggest next steps.
The result is a system that moves up to 100 times faster than conventional methods.

Feedstocks-to-Fuels and Products (F2F) Pipeline
The Feedstocks-to-Fuels and Products (F2F) pipeline is a high-throughput platform that speeds up the process of testing different combinations of components used in deconstruction and bioconversion.
This semi-automated pipeline uses robotics to process hundreds of unique biomass samples simultaneously.
This system provides high-throughput characterizations of interactions between feedstocks, pretreatments, and microbial hosts — ensuring AI models account for real-world complexities.

High-Throughput Microfluidic Electroporation (HTME) Platform
Electroporation is a technique used in synthetic biology to deliver genes to cells, but traditional methods are low-throughput and resource intensive.
The HTME platform addresses this longstanding bottleneck in synthetic biology with its 384-well electroporation plate (E-plate) and control electronics that are capable of completing hundreds of transformations in under one minute with greater than 95% success rates.
By automating synthetic biology’s most complex and time-consuming tasks, we can efficiently navigate biology’s massive design space to find advanced solutions.
